VP-elect Leni Robredo wants DSWD

Liberal Party candidate Camarines Sur Rep. Ma. Lenor “Leni” Robredo is the country’s vice president.

This was the result of the official count in the House of Representatives which showed her leading with 14,418,817, or just 263,473 votes apart from her closest rival Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who got 14,155,344.

First thing first
Robredo said after she’s proclaimed as the VP-elect on Monday she will form a transition team and she will make a courtesy call to incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.

Robredo wants to take over the Department of Social Welfare and Development to streamline the anti-poverty programs.

“Ako very vocal naman ako from the very start, na yung area of expertise ko kasi ay anti-poverty programs, at ang pinaka ahensya siguro para mas komprehensibo ang program patungkol diyan ay ang DSWD” she said.

(I am very vocal right from the very start, that my area of expertise are anti-poverty programs, and the most comprehensive agency for that is DSWD)
