Incoming Vice President Leni Robredo will have to wait for a possible seat in the Cabinet of the Rodrigo Duterte presidency.
“That never entered my mind actually,” Duterte admitted when asked if he has thought of offering Robredo a post in the Cabinet. He further admitted he has also not considered her for anything.
He said he does not know Robredo that much but he would be willing to have a good rapport with her if there is an opportunity later.
“I am not trying to be a smart aleck but I am still trying to figure out the selection in my own group and party except the fact that they cannot be employed immediately because of the one year ban (after losing the elections),” the erstwhile Davao mayor explained.
Duterte stressed he is more worried about where he would place the people who have been loyal to him and factored in his win for the presidency.
“I should not be looking beyond my borders yet,” he said.
Duterte said he is not planning to meet her soon because of his busy schedule.
“I would be in an awkward position when I am not ready to offer anything,” he said.
