Both local and national-based journalists were blocked from entering the Cebu Country Club where supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte are having a thanksgiving party dubbed as “Bisaya na Gyud!”.
This is in line with what President Rody said that he will boycott the media until the end of his term after he was misquoted and when his statements were misinterpreted by the media during his previous press conference.
Only PTV channel 4, a state-owned TV broadcasting network was allowed to cover the event. President Duterte once said that his statements will only be channeled to PTV4.
