The Bureau of Immigration at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 2 confirmed that Senator Antonio Trillanes IV left the country in the afternoon of May 17, 2016.
The Immigration officer who refused to be identified said Trillanes boarded a Philippine Airlines flight PR100 for Honolulu, Hawaii at 5:30 p.m.
The source added that the senator said he was on a business trip.
Trillanes was seen wearing a dark blue shirt with large two suitcases when he entered NAIA terminal 2 for check-in.
The BI source, however, said they had no information about the date of his return in the country.
Trillanes, an incumbent member of the Senate until his term ends in 2019, loses his vice presidential bid along with Senators Chiz Escudero and Allan Peter Cayetano.
